As you know, I love horror/thriller books and movies. To keep with the Halloween theme I will be doing some movie reviews and recommendations this month.

Horror/Thriller movie: Kill Katie Malone

Synopsis:

College students and best friends Ginger Matheson, Jim Duncan, and Kyle "Dixie"Canning, pool their cash to buy a "ghost" in an online auction. The three think it's all a goof, but once they open up the antique box to examine their "treasure," they unleash the vengeful spirit of a young girl who has been wreaking havoc on her owners throughout the generations.

Kill Katie Malone will keep you on the edge of your seat struggling to keep the blanket from covering your eyes. This is a very exciting, freakishly horrific movie. Just to think someone could possible buy a possessed item on a site like ebay is eerie enough for me. I haven't seen a movie quite like this one before, so uniqueness is an A+ for me. The characters were believable and you had plenty of time to gain an attachment to the main characters. The plot was spot-on and did not deviate from the main subject line. All in all, this movie is a must watch for all those horror freaks like me out there, or even those who let loose for Halloween and want an adrenaline rush.

Blood and Light by Rue Volley is well worth the read. Rue Volley shows off her creative talent for world building, character development, and being consistent with her plot. Rue incorporates a fantastic sense of wittiness and true emotions within her characters. Once I started reading this story, I did not want to put it down. I wanted it to continue forever. Rue Volley you diffidently deserve a 5 star rating for this read and I want to know when you release upcoming books. Thank you Rue.

I picked up this book at my daughter's school book fair last year. My plans were to read a higher level of books to her, something that we could both enjoy. But the more I looked at it, and read the back of the blurb, the more enticed I became--eventually I just had to sneak-a-peek. Let me tell you, I am glad I did. This book was extremely enjoyable to me and for a Young Adult, I believe they would be just as thrilled as I was to read this story. I love books with some mystery and paranormal aspects within--and this one is perfect. The author did a wonderful job on the characters, plot, and suspense, along with some humor. Definitely a book for your 9-12 year old to read.

Review:

Theauthor, Gary Starta,has uniquely envisioned a fantastic Paranormal-Thriller series. Ihave yet to come across a story quite like this, until now. Theaspect of merging Native American history and modern day times, witha twist of the paranormal anda psychotic serial killer on the loose, is spectacular. The storywithin is just as enticing to me as the tile, BloodWeb (whichI love). Theauthor has successfully portrayed realistic characters, an amazingplot, and in-depth descriptions ( although somewhat long winded, butnecessary to the story-line for a series ). All-in-all I willdefinitely recommend this book to other readers. Well done, GaryStarta. Thank you for an incredible story. Note: There were sometypo's but nothing too serious for the reader to become confused.

I promise you will fall head-over-heel for Maggie, as well as, her demon lover, Declan, and the entire realm that Linda Wisdom has envisioned for us. I enjoy reading all of Linda's books, but for some special reason, I am fascinated with Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend, although I have to admit, I did miss the chaotic antics of Fluff and Puff . . . :)

Great Book!

Again, I am another satisfied reader. I love the story and plot throughout Lost Reflections and Ms. Nowak kept me wanting more and more. I read the entire book in a matter of days and could not put it down. I really liked how Lost Reflections picked up where Fatal Infatuation left off and did not leave a void like some stories do. I love the story line between the characters and can say honestly, I look forward to reading about the vixen as much as the main characters! The only thing I can complain about is the lengthy chapters used to describe one of the main characters past. It seemed to be too much detail and took away from the rest of the story. But, if that is the only complaint then it goes to show how talented Ms. Nowak is! I hope she continues to write and can't wait for more!

Great Read!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Melanie Nowak's Fatal Attraction, in fact it was way better than I had anticipated. It was unlike most other Vampire novels that seems fake and too glamorous. It sucked you in from the beginning! Once I began reading it was hard to put it down; I wanted to finish it to find out what happened next. The plot was nice, and the writing was not redundant, it was very fresh to read. The characters were awesome and made you fall in love with their stories from the beginning. The vixen is even interesting to read about! Overall I would recommend this series to anyone and everyone! I can not wait to read the next books in the series! Keep them coming Ms. Nowak!

I enjoyed reading Closed for the Season. It's a nice change from my normal genre of books, and I do like a good mystery, whether YA or not. The author, Mary Downing Hahn, knows how to wrap-up her reading audience in an eerie mystery and keep them entertained throughout the pages with an enticing plot. I loved the character development between the two boys, Arthur and Logan. Also, I liked that the author incorporated the pressures of being an outcast in society just by status and appearance, and the way Logan stood up to those individuals and spoke up for his friend, Arthur.
All-in-all this was a marvelous read!

I give this book 4.5 out of 5. I really like this series, but I thought there was just a little too much of Cain's past. It kinda makes you feel like you are reading a different book. Other than that, it's great and I can't wait to read the next one.

I love the way the vampires change their faces and how they turn into dust when you stake them. I'm still missing some more vampire fights, staking, and rogues. Still, it's a great book and a wonderful series to get hooked on.

I was curious to see what type of morbid adventures Alice would be taken through and what kind of misfit characters she would meet along the way. I am a fan of Horror, so I did find myself somewhat enjoying this read in a psychotic manner. =) All the characters, however mentally disturbed, fit perfectly in this freakish land of undead things. So, if you are wanting something familiar, yet truly bizarre, than you need to experience the tale of Alice in Zombieland for yourself.

I have given considerable amount of thought about providing a summary for The Werewolf Upstairs and decided that the blurb on the back of the book wraps it up nicely.

Grave Is The Day is a superb read! This story is a must read for all the science fiction, extraterrestrial lovers on Earth. The author, Michael Drakich, has embedded the code of morality and philosophical meaning deep within his characters, something we see so few of in our modern day life. The knowledge of how precious all life is and how powerful friendship can be, whether it’s here on Earth or in the heavens, it’s still something to be cherished. Michael Drakich takes the reader straight into the minds of his characters, developing them with each turning page. I admire how this author merged our world history with his imagination of an alien race and expanded upon a lot of “What If’s”. It truly made this a memorable story to read and add to one’s bookshelf. Although this story is Science Fiction, it’s a story I will be passing down to the younger generation in hopes they will learn and understand the meaning behind it. Grave Is The Day has earned my rating of 5 stars! Thank you Michael Drakich.

Like I said, Miranda is having a bad day, and the one good thing about it was Andre, a sizzling hot EMT who thrives on saving as many lives as possible, no matter the cost.

Andre is an EMT and was attracted to Miranda Billings the moment they met. Even with her constant rejections he couldn’t keep Miranda out of his mind, until the fatal accident happened and Andre chose to use his half-demon powers to save her from death. But will Miranda be able to accept what she has become and what Andre has done for her? In the mean time, there is a demon on the loose killing innocent people and it’s up to Andre to prepare for battle and send the demon back to hell . . . and not get himself killed in the process.

Sweet Release is pure paranormal romance enjoyment. It’s not only a fun read, but ushers two lost souls to find each other in pure bliss. I loved this story, even though it was only 35 pages, it was well written and planned out, and the characters were awe-inspiring. I specifically liked the way the author, Carrie Pulkinen, created her half-demon character, Andre, using tatoo’s as a form of uniqueness. This short story would make a great series for all readers to enjoy, maybe even die for, but only if Andre was there to resuscitate me. =)

And Then There Were Two: This is a brief story of three pages, but its length doesn’t take away from the visionary tale the author wanted to portray. Although fleet, I still gained a thrilling sense of satisfaction that curbed my horror genre cravings. And Then There Were Two is based on a town’s missing persons’ reports through the years. Mark and Charles are setting at a table trying to solve the unexplained cases. Mark comes up with an alien abduction theory, but Charles isn’t buying into it until it’s them who wind up missing. If you are in the mood for a short, satisfying, out of the ordinary tale, then do not hesitate in reading this, but keep in mind, the author, Jude Mason gets right to the heart of the story without a lengthy character and plot building.

Have A Merry Viking is absolutely a delight to read. I immediately acquired an emotional attachment toward Thea and for a short read, that’s incredible. The author, Ellen Margret, effectively captures the enchantment of Christmas magic in a fun, imaginative way. Now I want my own scantily clad Viking wish to come true =) . The characters are vividly expressed, grabbing the reader from the start and the plot (I don’t know how Terry comes up with these great tales) is spot-on throughout the entire read. Thank you, Terry Spear, for once again ensnaring me with one of your books. Wolf Fever is highly recommended to anyone who loves shape shifters (the were-wolf kind) and lots of sultry romance. . A deliciously decadent read. We’re thrust back into the 19^th century where Olivia Breedlove (what a name), forced by the conditions of her father’s will, has to marry within six months or live dependent upon her brother.

Olivia, a feisty heroine, knows exactly what she wants, and is determined to get it. First, she needs to “observe” how a future husband can satisfy her so she goes to the local bordello to “peep”. The results are hot and hilarious. The hero, and victim of Olivia’s unrequited love, is hunky, brooding, and well-endowed Morgan, renowned for his “voluptuaries”. His love isn’t exactly unrequited since when the pair are together they heat each other up better than a cauldron. But Olivia’s father’s will stipulated her husband must be free from scandal and a respected member of the gentry. Morgan is neither. Little does Olivia know that he is the owner of the bordello and can manipulate what she sees.

So begins a “cat and mouse” game with both alpha-types alternating between failure and triumph. Added to the nail-biting suspense comes the fact that there is a maniac at large who has killed two prostitutes and has made it known (via a black rose) that Olivia is next.

I’m astounded by Keta’s writing versatility (having read and loved “Where the Rain is Made”), and her ability to paint scenes so that the reader lives with the characters. Fizzing with mystery and sizzling with sex, there is never a dull moment in her books and “Decadent Deceptions” will not disappoint her fans one bit.

Bloody Passion is far more than a story of sex, it’s packed full of adventure, spirituality, hope, ambition, and self-discovery. At first, I was not sure where the author, Laura Tolomei, was taking me, but that was short lived because events started taking place and coming together perfectly, making this story thrive. Not only does the characters development grow with each passing chapter, the plot is spot on and extremely intriguing; and with an abundance of sex sure to have you flushing and blushing. =)

There are a lot of emotions, sex (m/m – m/m/m – m/m/m/f), quests, and sensuality in Bloody Passions for me to go into detail, so I will just say; I honestly loved this story, far more than I thought I would. Laura Tolomei has created a diamond in the ruff, well worth experiencing for your-self. The only thing is we will have to wait for a sequel. (pout). Thank you, Laura, for the intense pleasure and sweltering heat you have given me by reading your book. I look forward to any of your stories in the future.

Even though To Catch A Killer by the Toe is a short read, it’s brimming with mystery and sweet romance of old. I enjoyed delving into this tale and the twisted ending was spectacular. The author, Pete Peterson, successfully created an enticing story in such a short time I was amazed. The characters popped out from the beginning, and it was easy to acquire an emotional attachment in just a few pages. The storyline flowed perfectly and stayed true-to-life. I usually don’t read Westerns, but I am sure glad I read this one. Thanks Pete Peterson for the enjoyable read!

Carol North, my pleasant reading surprise (if she doesn’t mind me calling her that) proves herself to be a versatile author with this short story. Having just read and adored “Savannah Heat” I am now thrown into new universe with another set of highly diverse characters. This time I’m in India, the Himalayas to be exact.

Leila Darling, a woman very much of this world and a skeptic of Indian gods, has a skiing accident and is thrust into an exotic world of eternal sunshine where she’s a revered priestess. And here she meets her “soul mate” Rosh – a raven-haired beauty who wears just a jewel encrusted loin cloth and is an expert in the Karma Sutra. Yes, the story’s raunchy, spicy and sizzling with hot sex.

Another pleasure is Ms North’s sense of place which she excels at: crystalline bells, “an opalescent cliff…sparkling like a jewel”. No-one can doubt Leila’s in paradise. The plot ebbs and flows at a pleasing rate and the contrast in cultures adds interest. My only bugbear was an unexpected twist at the end – but that’s my personal opinion. Most readers will love it.

The story, though short, has many themes – reincarnation, the afterlife, how to feel whole and realize our dreams. Gift for the Goddess is very worthwhile read for a snowy evening. Great imagination.

Faith finds herself in the middle of another battle between the God-like angels of Light and Darkness. Is this a game, with her playing the part of a pawn? And why? Is there deceit in the eyes of the Holy and not so Holy? All that can be said is she needs to have faith, not only to make it through a war that is waging between Heaven and Hell, but the desire for an angel and an archangel.

K.A. M’Lady is a new author to me and she has done a fantastic job creating the realm in which Faith Savage exists. Faith Savage is a headstrong, kick butt, character that I instantly fell in love with. I enjoyed every minute of reading these two short stories and enjoyed every minute envisioning the divine angel, Rafael, and the sinfully luscious archangel, Salvitor.( J They can temp me anytime.) I am now addicted to K.A. M’Lady’s—Faith Savage series and look forward to her future installments.

There was going to be a strange familiarity and an unexplainable attraction, desire, lust.

Kamillia doesn't understand all that is happening. She is lusting for Luca.

Luca wants her too. She wants to find out the truth. But, what is the truth? Will she be able to handle it? Can she help Luca? Will he be able to restore the mystical force field? What will happen to them at the end?

This was a very good story. The plot was good enough to keep the reader's attention. The description of the characters was enough to understand them properly. The sex scenes were subtle, descriptive, yet not vulgar. I give it an over all rating of 5 stars.

This story is spine-chilling, entertaining, and just plain brilliant. Ben Larken has creatively thought-up a well-balanced story with the perfect blend of romance, horror, mystery and suspense. The only problem is: you have to wait for the next book.

Savannah Heat is so atmospheric that I could smell it, visualize it, and feel the heat. With the well-rounded, believable characters, the setting was perfect. The plot, packed with subtle suspense, allows the pace to gallop to a cracking climax and the humor had me laughing out-loud throughout.

The main character, Bisque, turns out to be a talented artist and it’s clear that Carol North knows what she’s talking about when she writes about the artist’s life, just as she is about Savannah’s way of life, which borders on the prim and proper. Bisque comes across initially as easily manipulated, first by her odious mother, then by her dead husband, and even by her daughter. Savannah Heat is a study in human nature. Bisque’s homophobia was disappointing, but I put it down to the culture.

It was a surprise when naïve Bisque gives herself wantonly to a new romance, described with wonderful euphemisms: “My petals were swollen …”. The man of her rapt attention is the Colonel, famous for dallying with younger women, so the question is: what is he doing with forty-odd Bisque? However, she’s too entranced by the worn crotch of his jeans to worry. Their lovemaking becomes hotter and sizzles as the pace quickens.

The suspense grows right up to the end and kept me fascinated. I believe Savannah Heat will satisfy everyone. It is such a well-balanced story with a touch of everything that it deserves a huge readership. I thoroughly recommend it.

McMahan, did a fabulous job on incorporating humor in his storyline, and McMahn held my attention all the way through – not to mention an incredible ending. Bite This! - is an astonishing short read, and is recommended to all who love a little twist to an old-styled traditional detective story.

Pirate Lady Holiday is a fantastic, quick read. As soon as I finished the first chapter I was hooked. The Author, Kate Richards, did a marvelous job creating and developing the characters in such a short time frame, and in a way the reader becomes immediately attached. The story line was spot on and the scenes read fluidly, so fluidly I forgot I was actually reading… LOL. The only problem with Pirate Lady is that I was disappointed it ended. I wanted to know more about Clara and Jack… (pout). All in all, well done Kate!

I think I can sum up how much I enjoyed this book in eight words: Where are the other books in this series?!? I inhaled this book in one sitting!!! I loved Kelsey as a heroine; she was strong, yet vulnerable. The author did an excellent job of showing how these two characteristics warred with each other as she tried to figure out why Mack was running hot and cold with her. I absolutely LUVVED how the explanation was revealed (no one will get a spoiler from me!). Mack is sexy, dark, brooding, playful, brooding (did I say that again? I adore a brooding man!) and he is the perfect partner for Kelsey. The mystery and suspenseful aspect of this book was carried over from a previous book (I am assuming) and I thought it was well-written and smart how the author made this a continuation of another crime. It makes me, as the reader, want to go find the other book and find out about the earlier tragedies that had taken place.

As always, I must comment on the erotic content and if everyone will wait a minute while I pick myself up off the floor, I will just say this: Well, what do you know? I’m speechless! The sex scenes were hot, scorching, on fire…and touching! I was pleasantly surprised at how the author managed to infuse not only chemistry but a connection between Kelsey and Mack in so short of time. I chalk this up to awesome writing!

My only complaint would be how neatly the mystery/crime was wrapped up, but it was a short story so I was not too upset. When it comes down to it, if anyone is interested in a book that is going to provide mystery, passion, amazing love scenes, and most importantly, love, please choose Dark Stranger! This one is guaranteed to fit the bill!

Ms. Layne runs heavy on details of the BDSM scene and fetish play, which is sure to delight both novice and experienced practitioners. The most compelling characters, outside of the key journey of Rodney and Jasmine’s relationship involved Dexter, the cab driver, Rebecca, Grayle’s secretary and Mistress Violet at the House of Flowers.

Ms. Layne uses details to her advantage in this novel, in particular with the costumes Jasmine wears, but also with addressing the issues of class, money and power in this novel. Ms. Layne excels equally at sexual tension between Jasmine and Rodney, as well as Jasmine’s own sexual tension. The entire scene with Ben-WA balls kept me laughing. The twists which appear in this novel, particularly in the last thirty pages are well worth the read. Family secrets, revenge, career and sexual desire are each explored and resolved in a tight space. While I wanted more from each layer, since the main story is the love and sex between Rodney and Jasmine, I was not too disappointed.

What left me dissatisfied was the family conflict revealed in the end, which needed a few more pages to resolve.

Overall, Ms. Lane delights at bringing sizzle back to contemporary romance. For sheer sexual tension this is a great juicy read.

I enjoyed this book by Abby Wood, although I wouldn't call it a book exactly; more like a short story.
The pretense is three sisters: Carly, Bonnie, and Alexis, who are practicing witches. Bonnie and Alexis have gotten together and performed a powerful love spell for Carly, who has practically given up on finding true love.

The very next day, Carly meets the owner of the florist shop where she’s been working and the chemistry is immediate, and hot. Because he seems a little too perfect, she is concerned that he only wants her body, not her heart, so she runs straight away to her sisters.

They perform some ritual to prove it is true love, which reassures Carly, and she runs back into Max’s arms, ready to accept his affection and his love.

The love scene between Carly and Max was very steamy. I would recommend this story to anyone who likes stories laced with steamy sex.

The only problem I had with the story was that it was entirely too short. I would definitely read the next book in the series.

I don't normally read short stories, but I wanted to give it a try. I really enjoyed the book, I would like more background about the sisters, but that is just because I am used to novels. The story itself was good. It was an easy read. I could relate to Carly because she second guesses everything and just wants true love. I think the author kept me entertained and I would definitely read the next one. :)

Carly is part of the Jacobson triplets who practice witchcraft. Carly is the skeptical triplet and questions the Goddesses that might or might not be listening to them. Her sisters are the belief system and confidence that Carly needs and are out to prove her wrong. The sisters cast a circle to ask the Goddesses for the love of a man for each of them and Carly will be the first of the triplets to receive hers. But will it be a true love and not just lust?

Ms. Wood presented a really creative storyline, although I felt it lacked the depth it needed to really get the story and characters across. The idea of triplet witch sisters casting a circle to find 'Mr. Right' held a lot of appeal to me, but the scenes between Carly and Max felt too rushed and would have been better developed and more believable had there been more pages. The personalities of the sisters were well established and the setting images were clearly presented. It was an enjoyable albeit quick read.

Recommended reading for fans of witchcraft laced with a quick romp in a flower shop.

I gave it a 2 (it was ok) out of 5 rating.

I love to read short stories as well as novels so I realy enjoyed reading this story. I loved the bond the sister's have for each other. And I can relate to Carly when it comes to thinking twice before acting and knowing what she wants out of life and in a relationship.
Ms. Wood did an excellent job in pulling the reader into the story. I'm not normally a big fan of really hot sexual content. But, I do like some steamy senes as much as the next person.
I also loved the front cover of the book. It fit so well with the story.

So in all. I give it a 5

A Fistful of Rubbers is the second installment to the Sid Tillsley Chronicles. The story picks up after the slaying of Sparle, an uncontrollable Vampire beast, which in turns leaves the Coalition suffering from disorder within their ranks. The fear of losing their precious Agreement between the Humans and the Vampires is constantly at risk, even more so, now that Reese Chambers has recruited Sid Tillsley as a Vampire Hunter.

But all is not right within the circle of misfit friends. Sid's beloved Miners Arm's Pub has been shut down due to the Coalition retaliating against Sid and Reese's Vampire extermination practices. Even with all the money, beer, and cigs, Sid still misses the best Bolton Beer ever made by Kev, the owner of the Miners Arm's. The main characters are Francesca and Meko and we see Meko capture Francesca and her brother, Marsh, in a raid. She is taken back to their Indian camp and right from the offset there is sexual tension between them.
What Cesca and the villagers don’t know is Meko is actually called Ethan, a time traveler sent back to aid his people in their war against the white soldiers.
Cesca is torn, she can’t deny the attraction she has for this strange man, this savage, and as she learns more about the tribe, and its people, she begins to realize they aren’t the ones who are the savages.

I reviewed this book on request from, Keta Diablo, and when I read the synopsis, I admit, I did not think I would like it. I have never read a book centered on Indian culture or time traveling, but I have to admit, I was wrong and this is one of my favorite books I have reviewed.

The characters are well written and the romance between them and the tension is endearing. The language isn’t too harsh and the sex scenes where steamy, yet romantic.

If I was being picky, and I mean really picky, I’d say the Indian names confused me sometimes, but that’s probably due more to my being forgetful. The ending was fabulous, with a little twist too.

I’d take a wild guess and say that the author, Keta, must love Indian culture because her passion for them comes across so strongly that I suspect it was more than just mere research.

I would recommend this book to anyone. I read mainly vamp and shifter books, so I was pleasantly surprised to find myself not wanting to put this book down. Because of this, I want to give the book a 4.5, a warm, endearing read that will appeal to any romantic, no matter what genre they prefer.

Every once in a while I will find a book that is so romantic, that it stays in my mind long after I have read the last words on the last page. Shadow Hunter is one of these books. This is an honest-to-goodness romance story that even the most jaded reader will not be able to resist! The author mixed just the right amount of suspense, action, love, and eroticism in Shadow Hunter. There is the spirited heroine, the mysterious (and sigh, vulnerable) hero, the psychotic villain, and most importantly, a plot that makes sense!

Julian kidnaps Clara on the eve of her honeymoon to Chris, a maniacal drug dealer who has pulled the wool over Clara’s eyes by convincing her he is a legitimate businessman who cares for her. However, soon enough Clara comes to realize two things: Julian saved her from a miserable marriage and horrible fate, and that she has fallen in love with her kidnapper and rescuer. However, Chris now has to get rid of Julian and Clara because they both know too much about his business and this leads to a breath-taking cat and mouse game where Julian’s considerable powers save their lives time and time again. What is awesome is the reader is along for this exhilarating ride every step of the way!

Aside from the action, I loved how Julian loved Clara! I must admit I caught myself sighing on a number of occasions…his passion for her made me a total marshmallow!!! Okay, yes, I would have liked more sex scenes in the book. The author spent a lot of time building up the sexual tension and I would have just liked to read more culminations of it. That being said, the passion was still there, the romance was obvious, and at the end of the book I am a happy reader and that’s what’s important, right?

I would definitely rate Shadow Hunter as a “must read”! So readers, remember you heard it here first: Shadow Hunter will satisfy your craving for suspense, action, and ROMANCE!!!

Bianca does not understand what her brother did to deserve to be murdered and Dante has yet to tell her what her brother did. Bianca wants to avenge her brothers death so she tortures Dante every single day so his wounds do not heal and they reopen with every whipping. Dante manages to escape and capture Bianca, but he won't harm her the way she did to him, even though that was his original plan. Dante steals a kiss from Bianca and heat starts to flair between them. They both fight the heat for as long as they could before they give in to each other.

I am definitely a fan of erotic novels. As long as they are tastefully done. I don't want to be cringing when I read them and I didn't cringe one bit when I read this novella. I really enjoyed. The storyline flowed together and it didn't feel like a short story. Yule really develops the charters in a short period of time and you are able to feel their emotions. I do have to say that it is very reminiscent of another authors storyline with demons inside of them, and it kept making me think of the story. But all in all, I really enjoyed this story and I will be looking her up to find full length novels. Definitely deserves the 4 stars.

“Rituals” is the first book I have ever read that had Wiccan ceremonies and/or rituals as part of the storyline. I was immediately fascinated. The story started off with the main characters, Maddie and Ryan, participating in a Wiccan ceremony, and at first I was a little confused. But the confusion did not last long, and I was immediately engrossed in the ceremony, the binding ritual and the meanings in the rituals. I could tell the author has done her research concerning Wiccan rites. As a result of the author’s attention to detail and excellent writing, I would definitely love to read more of this author’s work as well as read other books along the line of this genre.

Now…I love a steamy love story…and, boy did “Rituals” deliver!!! It wasn’t steamy, it was scorching!!! Did I say scorching? I meant blistering!!! The love scenes with the bondage were explicit, and I loved them because of how the author tied (pun unintended!) it into Maddie’s past; essentially her foray into the world of bondage was a way to set her inhibitions free. I loved it!!! I also love when two best friends all of a sudden start to see each other with new eyes. As the reader, I know they already have a solid foundation of love, the passion is just another layer. This added credibility to the love story when they did fall in love.

Last, throw in the crazy ex-husband and I fell in love with “Rituals”! I love a story where a devious, controlling, abusive ex-husband who gets his comeuppance! “Rituals” has all the components I need in a love story to keep me glued to the pages: love, lust, and suspense. With the added benefit of a new genre that I see myself indulging in more in the future, you are looking at one happy reader!!! “Rituals” is a must read!

The main female lead, Ebony, has just discovered that she is very ill and she begins to regret that she has never experienced true love, The main male lead, Ashe, however, has experienced pretty much everything, him being a centuries old vampire! When Ashe has to protect Ebony, he takes her to the family mansion where the sparks begin to fly and their love can be denied no longer. Ebony is reluctant to expose her illness as she doesn’t want Ashe’s pity. Ashe is reluctant to fall in love because he has been burned badly in the past.

I was so excited when I was asked if I would review this book because I had read the second and I really liked it. This book is just as good. I like how the story focuses on the developing relationship between the two main characters. Ebony and Ashe. The love scenes were fabulous and each one was unique. I liked the emotion displayed with regards to Ebony because of her illness ( Not wanting to put any spoilers in). S.K Yule is a fab writer, as I said before her writing style reminds me a lot of Sherrylin Kenyon'. There’s enough juiciness to keep you reading, but not too much, that you have no use of your imagination. This writer deserved the four stars I have given both books because I know I will read them both again.

When Clarity Shaw arrived at the Tempest Gate Hotel in Salem, New Hampshire, all she expected to do was research and report on the mysterious happenings behind the legend of The Curse of the Tempest Gate Cemetery. Clarity has a particular interest in this legend since it was supposed to involve one of her distant ancestors'. While checking into the Hotel, Clarity is told of some interesting tales surrounding the history of the cemetery and it's superstitions. Hazel, the Hotel's receptionist, recalls a sense of familiarity toward Clarity, but is unable to place what it is.

With persuasion from Hazel and warnings from Mr. Donner, Clarity sets out to complete her investigation and bring truth to her readers, for she is a reporter of a paranormal magazine company. Entering the cemetery, Clarity wanders the grounds until she comes to a stone effigy of an archangel. Noticing the remarkable realistic nature of the stone effigy, Clarity is bewitched by it's handsome, yet sincere features and feels some attachment to it. In all my years of reading I have never come across a story written like this one. The Curse of Tempest Gate is like finding a needle in a haystack. As I came to the end this fantastic tale, I was left with a tear in my eye and a sense of satisfaction and pleasure. Karen Michelle Nutt is truly gifted in her craft of weaving a tale. She has wrote some amazing stories, but this one is now, above and beyond, my favorite. I love the story line which flowed swiftly and smoothly throughout the story. The characters and background settings were perfectly blended to give the reader the sense of realism towards the events and emotions depicted. I could visualize the aura of good surrounding Michael, the archangel, as well as seeing in my minds eye the evil emanating from the Devil's Chair and Samael. My thanks goes out to Karen Michelle Nutt for allowing me to experience her unique realm of Angels. Karen's creative tales always make me want to read more from her and I have not yet been disappointed. THANK YOU KAREN!!!

The main character, Avril, has not dated for quite a while because of her bad reputation with men, annoyingly for her she’s overwhelmingly attracted to her best friend’s brother in law, the vampire, Aiston.

Aiston is a 700 year old vampire who has never been in a relationship, he too finds himself attracted to Avril, but he’s having a hard time convincing her that he can be a one woman man. Avril struggles to put the past to rest and trust that Aiston can settle down and never break her heart.

I really liked this book. It reminded me of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s style of writing, even though the two writers have totally different vampire concepts. The book features mainly around the two main characters, but it doesn’t get boring at all. The sex scenes were tasteful and enjoyable and left you eagerly awaiting the next. S K Yule really puts you in the picture with her description and you easily connect with the characters in the emotional scenes. Lots of new and interesting vampire concepts too, which is always good. I read this book in one sitting and I will definitely be seeking out more of SK Yule’s work. This book really deserved the four out of five and is worth a read.

The tale begins on a winters night and a small boy asking for a story from his mother. She suggests a couple but the small boy insists on his mother reading the story of the Winter Queen. The mother relents and begins. The Winter Queen is a woman scorned who has turned the land around her into a state of permanent winter. She guards a bridge to her kingdom's treasures and kills any man who tries to cross and steal them.
One day however, a lonely beggar man comes, he does not seek her kingdom's treasure, but can he melt her frozen heart?

This book was lovely and romantic. Nice to see an author that can capture the readers attention without any sex scenes what so ever, and this short ebook did that. A lovely little read for your lunch break or a short read before bed. The Queen's sadness and loneliness is wonderfully descriptive and Aubrie really puts the reader in the shoes of this poor woman who has given up everything for love only to have her heart broken.
I really enjoyed this little book and the ending was really heart warming.

This bite-sized tryst is the very best kind of "love in an elevator". At first, the reader will nod in sympathy with the heroine, who's long admired the hot boy in the coffee shop, but has never quite had the chance (or the nerve) to say what she really feels. A chance encounter, an opportunity to be alone, and a little sympathy are enough to ignite the sparks that quickly crackle between hero and heroine. The reader will fall into the easy, evocative style of Gordon's prose, and delight in this guilty pleasure that is just enough tease with plenty of follow-through. Equal parts funny, sexy, and well-written, I highly recommend this story, especially the promised "five favorite words" themselves, which made me smile.

The two main characters in the book are Scott and Michelle. They are happily married, but Scott is emotionally scared from his past. While jogging one night, they discover the bodies of a drug dealer and a murdered police woman, and it deepens Scott,s emotion scars. Just over a year later, through a seemingly chance meeting at a bar in mid town Manhattan, they meet Jong, a flirty passionate woman, and the three head back to the married couples flat for a passionate threesome. The night is going just as Michelle wants until, in the morning Michelle wakes up alone. Scott has disappeared, and what was meant to drive them together has propelled them apart. She confides in her friend and work college, Dave Carson, and together they set out to find Scott. When the police fail her, Michelle hires a private investigator. The web becomes even more tangled as Michelle battles to find Scott, and deal with infidelities, and the suspicion, that vampires are somehow involved. But when she finds him, will he even want to go home with he?

This book was not an easy read, I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s a thinkers book, not a book for the bath or on the bus. I needed peace and quite to fully immerse myself in the book and characters. I don’t get a lot of peace and quite, so it took me a little longer than normal to read it.

Having said that, the book is really well written and the balance that one needs in this type of book is spot on. A good mixture of sex, violence and plot. Characters are all believable and the ending was not predictable and kept the reader guessing to the end.

Just a couple of downsides, there is a very slight reference to incest which, while it was probably in context for the period of the novel I found it a little off putting. It is a very short couple of lines and luckily didn’t put me off the book.

Another downside for me, a case of personal preference really, was the couple of bondage scenes. Not really to my taste, but there was an even mix of other sexy scenes to keep me interested.

All in all, a good read, four out of five stars.

A distinguishing aspect of Kaydana, is that she possesses The Staff of Ishlun, renowned for its mystical powers and is what sets her apart from other sorcerers.

The door to her dwelling is darkened by a cloaked figure, whose intriguing request may bring more trouble than she prepared to handle. Within the folds of the cloak, is a petite, cute Sheovin, named Tati. It is common knowledge that the Sheovin, are not well received by the King, Tati, after receiving a lukewarm reception to her request to freeing her mate, she seduces Kaydana into agreeing to help her. Kaydana and Tati face unexpected challenges in the mystical castle – and manage to use talented tongues, a wicked tail, a dose of cunning seduction and the Staff of Ishlun to rescue Tati’s beloved imprisoned from King’s Grunard’s castle.

This book is organized well and has several erotic scenes. Who could have guessed that a tail could be so talented? The author does a good job with developing the novella’s plot and its characters are sufficiently developed in this quick read.

Spear has effectively incorporated lifelike emotions with her characters, as well as an impressive display of character development. The sexual tension between Cassie and Leidolf is maddening and I felt myself cheering for Leidolf by wanting Cassie to come to her senses and take him for her mate. Spear has not yet disappointed me in a story that she has wrote. I do and will recommend this book to all.

I loved the premise of this brief e-book. What could be better than the combination of the Fae world with human sensuality? The eroticism builds most carefully in the sex scenes between Aryan and Skye. I looked forward to finding out how Aryan, the hero, would navigate the human world without violating the rules of the Fairy world. Some of the more compelling characters were actually minor ones, such as Aunt Mary. I wanted to know more about whether Aunt Mary’s experimentation with witchcraft was affecting Skye, not mentioned in this work. She sees the image of a face, which the reader can presume is Aryan, but we don’t know. Ms. Delight has striking images of Skye herself and Aryan when Skye sees him in the flesh. She also uses her secondary characters well, such as Aryan’s mother, Queen Gwenith as a matchmaker. The twist with Gwenith both enriches the story and brings laughter. She moves the story forward and helps with the time constraint of three weeks. I found that the character of Gwenith is a common.

What left me dissatisfied were the tiny time gaps between chapters. First, Ms. Delight excels at sexual tension between Skye and Aryan. The sexual sizzle starts when they finally face each other and doesn't let up. However, I wanted to see more of Skye and Aryan’s interactions outside the sexual realm. The carnal desire sizzles between Skye and Aryan, which heats up the final chapters, needs to be balanced by the goal which Aryan states halfway through the book: he wants to get to know her better to see if she is the one for him. I was left wanting to see more about all four characters: Aunt Mary, Queen Gwenith, Skye, and Aryan. For sheer sexual tension, this is a good short juicy read.

Yet, this phrase is also more than appropriate when describing the author of Wind and Fire, Cheryl Landmark: she creates worlds with her words. Wind and Fire captured my attention and my imagination immediately. From the first page, I was drawn into this story and transported to the mystical world of Tellaron where magic is real and a great evil had to be destroyed. I was immediately steeped in larger-than-life and frightening monsters, page turning action, and heroes that I would follow into battle, if I carried a sword…and some kind of sword carrying skill…J

Each time the author described a person, animal, monster, place, or event I did not have to struggle to imagine it in my mind. The descriptions were so vivid, it was as if she drew a picture for me and I could see it as the story unfolded. The characters were in depth and had substance. I knew the motivation that drove each character to act as they did, even if it was just blind devotion to an evil master. The main character, Tenya, was likeable and relatable. As the reader, I was invested in her journey to find her mother and master her, hither to unknown, powers. I cheered for her each time she scored a victory, rejoiced with her when she reunited with her mother, and celebrated with her as she triumphed over evil at the end (spoiler alert, sorry!!!). I was amazed at how much thought the author put into creating background stories for not only Tenya and the other characters, but for the whole world of Tellaron.

Wind and Fire is not just for readers who enjoy fantasy, it will appeal to lovers of all genres, which is the telling sign of a great book. Cheryl Landmark has an excellent gift for creating and storytelling. I cannot wait for her next novel, which will hopefully be another book about the people of Tellaron! For anyone looking to escape to another world and enjoy the stay, welcome to the fertile imagination of Cheryl Landmark!!!

Something has happened, there is no music, no lights, she stumbles on something, she hears a moaning... What's wrong? Is anyone dead? Why is all this happening? How can she help? She has to make a decision that can change their lives for ever.

This was an interesting read. The sex scenes were descriptive yet not vulgar. This short story is easy to read without complicated wording. Some really good emotional moments. The plot was good enough to get the readers attention and spikes interest in a sequel. I give it an over all rating of 4 stars.

The Main Character, Natasha is meeting a man she has been writing to on Halloween. They have arranged to meet in an old creepy mansion at night. Suddenly illuminated by the moonlight she sees him, Victor. He is gorgeous and the attraction between them is instant. Next follows a very steamy rendezvous with a little bit of blood drinking and a really cool twist.

I loved this! This story was absolutely fab. The main bulk of the story is the sex scene, but it’s very tastefully done indeed. The right amount of description and the right sort of level of language, which I personally fond appealing. Just when I thought I’d predicted the ending, it threw me off guard and it was a really heart warming twist. The description is the book is also excellent, just the right amount without getting to boring and overdone. This story really deserved the 5 stars as I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’ll definitely keep an eye out for any more of her work.

The two main characters are Damien and Nathan. Both are vampires and very much in love, but it seems to Damien that Nathan perhaps is not being totally faithful. As well as feeling guilty for feeding from humans, he is dealing with the fact that his maker and lover, is possibly cheating on him. After a row, Damien finds a letter to Nathan from another man, and it would appear his suspicions are correct.

This was a fabulous little read. It was actually the first Male on Male erotica I have ever read and while the sex scenes were not particularly a turn on for me, I found I enjoyed reading them. This short story is an ideal bath-time read. Blackened has a really good story line packed into it without the reader feeling, as though they are taking too much in at once, like with some short stories. Some really good emotional torment with Damien, too. There is only one sex scene which I think works out really well and gives the story an even mix of romance and plot, and the sex scene itself is descriptive yet not crude. Overall I give this short story a well deserved 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this book! The story is set in a town that is shrouded in magic, history, and mystery. I just love when idyllic towns turn out to have still waters that run deep! The author created an atmosphere as a backdrop to the story that drew me in and made me want to pull up stakes and move to Devon Falls and find me a wolf of my very own!

Rodrick and Jaxon’s characters were very well developed, especially considering this was a short story. The well meaning nosiness of relatives and townspeople added humor and richness to the book.

I felt the sexual tension between Rodrick and Jaxon right from the start and loved the snappy and witty dialogue between them. Not only could I see the sparks leaping off the pages, but it was evident Rodrick was not going to be able to steamroll over Jaxon. I love a strong man, but an equally assertive woman makes the story scorching! Speaking of scorching…ahem…the love scene was, well, scorching! It was tastefully erotic with enough graphic words to make me blush, but not turn me off. If anything, I would have been a happy camper if the author could have slipped more than one in the story, but, oh well….

If I had to point out one aspect that bothered me it was that I felt like I was missing out on some information that may have been explained in the first book, as this was obviously not the first in a series. I would have liked to know some more about the other magical families, or were the werewolves the only ones left? I was not even sure if Jaxon knew Rodrick was a werewolf until the end because it was never made plain throughout the story if everyone in town knew about their “otherworldly” citizens. Other than this, I absolutely enjoyed reading this story and anyone looking for escape with some erotic paranormal action, pick up Devon Falls: Haunting Magic!!!

The main characters are Joshua Kaine and his wife, Jessie and they have a happy perfect marriage. Joshua is a long distance driver and Jessie enjoys accompanying him. One night on one of their runs, Joshua is attacked by what he thinks is a dog. He kills the creature, but falls ill until the full moon, when Joshua turns into a werewolf. Drawn by the need to seek out a cure, he seeks out Ganda, an ancient witch who lives in the swamp.

Joshua and Jessie find themselves on the run from the clan of the werewolf he killed and they are vowing revenge. They come in droves and droves, and when Joshua sees Jessie killed in battle, he vows to take on the entire clan for taking his love away.
It’s always fantastic when an avid fantasy reader comes across something new in a book. With a well written subject such as Werewolves you can often find a kind of monotony to some books. Rie has injected some really good new ideas into this book. I liked the idea that a werewolf takes on the same scent as its maker. It was also lovely to have a story with a well established married couple as main characters instead of the boy meets girl plot.
There is a good balance of horror, sex and plot lines to keep the reader interested although, the sex scenes were a little crude for my taste, the plot was enough to keep me interested and finish the book.

Rie’s description is wonderful in the book especially when Joshua is taking in the sensation of being a werewolf for the first time.
Overall this book was a good read and I would give it 4 out of 5.
